Mardi Gras 80s Prom
Our night of a thousand skinny ties...before we head into the fasting and prayer of Lent.
Blessings of the Animals, 2010
Our annual worship event, al fresco, re-learning that God is just Dog spelled backwards. Deacons bless countless stuffed animals, Penny the Dog, Unnamed Turtle and Willie the Rabbit, among others.
All-Church Retreat, 2009
We return to Friendly Crossways for another winter retreat filled with friends, food, fellowship, music, and merriment!
Mothering/Fathering Sunday, 2008
Celebrating the mothers and fathers that built our community in between the parental holidays. We brought as many elders out as we could for a day in their honor, with a huge feast, and a whole lot of hisory.
Easter & Palm Sunday, 2008
The annual Somerville Palm Sunday donkey walk! Churches from all over Somerville held an interdenominational prayer at Powderhouse Circle, and then we marched on down, with Laura Ruth drumming along at the fore! Easter was our culmination, returning from the desert to find lush greens, jubilation, and silver tea!
Mexico Mission Trip, 2008
A dozen of us (coincidental number? you decide) traveled to Colima, Mexico in February to spend over a week with the children of the Casa San Jose, where Pastor Molly once lived and worked. We went swimming, we played soccer, they saw themselves in our eyes and we in theirs. It was nothing short of beautiful.
Christmas Cantata, 2007
Our annual Christmas Cantata, this year with a classical quartet, a rockin' choir, and as much joy in our hearts as ever, snowstorm or no!
Disco Mardi Gras, 2007
First Church fattens up for Lent in true style: a disco ball, paisley, and polyster. We danced, and we looked good at it, too!
